Teachers can live and work in Wugularr Community however due to a shortage in teacher houses, some teachers are asked to share or live in the nearby community of Barunga.

What to Bring?

The teachers' houses have furniture and white goods provided. The teachers supply everything else. For example:

  • Crockery and cutlery
  • Cleaning materials
  • Linen and soft furnishings
  • Electrical appliances such as a TV, DVD player, stereo, or a games console

TV Reception

There are 5 local channels available. These are Imparja, Seven, ABC1, SBS, NITV.

There is a small general store in Wugularr to select a small variety of food, drinks and household items. Teachers generally shop in Katherine at Woolworths Supermarkets.

Water

The water has a high mineral content so many teachers prefer to drink rainwater or buy their own drinking water in Katherine.

There are 4 houses available in Wugularr, all of which are fenced.  There are also houses available in Barunga, which is 15 minutes' drive away.
